For my first project with The Refinery, I created an in-universe, VHS-style promotional video for the official Theater Camp social media campaign. The client wanted a piece that felt like a deliberately “bad” VHS promo, reflecting the mockumentary, comedic tone of the 2023 feature film.
After my direction was chosen, I built the piece entirely from the ground up, designing custom transitions, lower thirds, and VHS effects to capture the retro, DIY aesthetic. The result is a playful, immersive promo that blends humor, nostalgia, and social media-friendly pacing while staying true to the film’s quirky universe.
